Jay Johnson has 24 years in law enforcement with wide experience in private security, municipal and campus law enforcement, police instructor, and adjunct instructor at a private college. Jay is a graduate of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy, and The National Forensics Academy. He earned his Master of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga in Criminal Justice Administration.
Prior to joining the Univ. of Chattanooga Police Department, Jay was a police officer at The University of Tennessee’s flagship campus in Knoxville. With a student enrollment of 27,000 students and 8,100 employees. Jay was responsible for managing the department’s accreditation project and professional standards responsible for drafting all policies and guidelines and performed audits to ensure compliance.
